Infantry Professional Term Reflection - With Pride We Lead! Specialists!

Hi all, NepNero here. I've officially graduated as a 3SG from Specialist Cadet School and have been posted out. There are new Specialist Cadets out there that are incoming (from what I heard), so hopefully this blog post will help them get accustomed to SCS and hopefully, Infantry Professional Term when they go through it. Before we get started, I think it's important to give a gist of what Infantry Professional Term is. The professional term is a term lasting 12 weeks. Throughout these 12 weeks, you will be engaging in infantry Techniques and Tactics as well as learning how to take up leadership roles during important missions. The 12 weeks here will sharpen you as an Infantry Specialist who will be capable of teaching your men in the future, or undergoing tougher courses that will no doubt challenge you (Guards Commander Conversion Course). The 12 weeks include: - Backyard Training (3D0N) - Urban Operations Close Quarters Battle (3D2N) - EX Gypsy (2D0N) - Section Battle Cour...

SCS Foundation Term - A Reflection

Hi, my name is NepNero. I am currently a Senior Specialist Cadet in Lynx Company of Specialist Cadet School 3, posted to Lynx as both the 52/22 Foundation Term (past), and the 52/22 Infantry Professional Term (current) This is my first proper post (ignore my misery post from earlier) for my Journey in SCS. Having seen all the other blogs about SCS and their journeys, I wanted to blog about my own here and share my experiences with everyone else. As someone who wanted to know a lot about SCS before I entered, I will be as detailed as possible about my recollection of events for those who want an insight into what SCS is like, and how your first 9 weeks in Pasir Laba Camp will be. The overall organisation of the reflection will be as follows. - POP and In-Processing to SCS - Week 1 - Week 3 - EX Tenderfoot - UOCQB Outfield - EX Grandprimer - EX Wanderer - Week 6 - Week 8 - EX Sergeant Rocky - Lessons Learnt POP and In-Processing to SCS After I POP'd, I had a week of block leave for t...

The Start of Professional Term - With Courage We Fight As One! (Infantry)

Oh god, how the heck did I get here. The Realisation Recently, I finished up EX Sergeant Rocky at Pasir Laba Camp, including a 12 km route march with activities to do in-between (Tripflare, Claymore, Mystery Box e.t.c). After returning to the Chevrons square, grabbing our refreshments, we returned to the coyline to finally assemble for our rank presentation, where we would receive our third diagonal line that signifies our transition from a Junior Specialist Cadet, to a Senior Specialist Cadet.  As I donned the Senior SCT (Specialist Cadet) rank, my PC (Platoon Commander) said "See you tomorrow". As I was incredibly exhausted and sleepless from the exercise, I thought nothing of his comment. This has got to be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. We started packing up everything and I was hopefully that I would be posted out to a separate camp to engage in my professional term training to eventually pass out as a Sergeant; oh how wrong I was. Towards the start of the morn...
